Executive Council

The Governor in Executive Council gives effect to many of the decisions and actions of Government as approved by Cabinet, including the issuing of proclamations, making regulations and making certain appointments. Any matter being presented to the Governor in Executive Council requires prior Cabinet approval.

The Executive Council clerks check each submission prior to it being considered by Cabinet and will advise the submitting minister's office of any corrections, amendments or additional information required. If a revised version of a document is required, it must be re-signed by the submitting minister and resubmitted to Cabinet Office.

Contact the Executive Council clerks or refer to the Governor’s website for more information about Executive Council processes or the role of the Governor.
