Your Cabinet paper may require changes once it has been lodged and is on the agenda for a Cabinet meeting. Changes may be initiated by Cabinet Office through the validation process, or by ministers’ offices where the minister considers Cabinet should be aware of additional information. You should liaise with Cabinet Office where amendments are required to ensure the correct version is provided to Cabinet.

If amendments are required after the Cabinet bag has been distributed to ministers, the revised version of the document is treated in the same way as a walk-in. Ministers must provide 17 copies of the revised item in the Cabinet meeting with one version printed single sided. Liaise with Cabinet Office if you anticipate that a revised version of an item will be walked-in to Cabinet.
