The South Australian Living Artist (SALA) Publication grant supports the production of a major, high-quality book profiling an established South Australian visual artist with a significant track record of achievement in their area of practice.

Developed and published in conjunction with the Board of the SALA Festival and Wakefield Press, the publication is designed to position the South Australian visual art, craft and design practitioner in a national and/or international context.

The feature artist for the 2024 publication will be Adelaide-based artist Julia Robinson, with the 2025 feature artist to be announced at this year’s SALA Festival in August. Other past subjects of the publication include Helen Fuller, Mark Valenzuela, Roy Ananda, Kirsten Coelho, Louise Haselton, Clare Belfrage, Christopher Orchard, Catherine Truman and Giles Bettison.

Nominations for the 2026 South Australian Living Artist Publication are now invited from individual practicing professional artists who work and live in South Australia or organisations nominating on their behalf.

To apply, please review the Arts and Culture Grants Program General Guidelines and submit a nomination by 5pm, Monday 1 July 2024.
