On 13 December 2016, the Government of South Australian announced that $31 million will be provided to help large energy using businesses in South Australia manage their electricity costs and contribute energy supply benefits to the state.
The Energy Productivity Program is available to businesses that use more than 160 MWh of electricity each year to incentivise investing in energy productivity measures.

Applications for the first component of the program, grants for energy productivity audits, closed on 31 May 2017. Under this part of the program, grants of 75 per cent of the cost of a Level 2 energy audit, up to $15,000, were offered to businesses to engage an external energy auditor to identify energy productivity opportunities.
Energy productivity implementation grants
Energy productivity implementation grants are available for large businesses to implement the recommendations of a recently completed Level 2 (or equivalent) energy audit.
Businesses can apply for an energy productivity implementation grant irrespective of whether their audit was self-funded or funded through the Energy Productivity Program.
