APY Food Security Strategic Plan 2011-2016

On 3 December 2010 Minister Grace Portolesi,  former Minister for Aboriginal Affairs and Reconciliation, launched the Anangu Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara (APY) Lands Food Security Strategic Plan 2011-2016 to develop a new way of coordinating  and improving food security on the APY Lands.
The Strategy is overseen by the APY Executive Action Team (APY-EAT) which includes Government, non-Government and APY Executive representatives.  APY-EAT is responsible for implementation of the Strategy through the ongoing development and management of a framework for action.   Currently this framework includes a focus on a range of key food security determinants on the APY Lands  including financial wellbeing, freight improvement and store management.
Within the Strategy a commitment is made to the production of an annual evaluation report to review past activity and inform future directions.  The Year 1 Report was released in March 2012.  The Year 2 Report was released in April 2013.
