The Office of the State Coordinator General actively works to drive investment in South Australia by creating an environment that welcomes private sector development and stimulates job creation.

Riverbank precinct, Adelaide.

The Coordinator-General, Mr Jim Hallion, assists developers with proposals that have a construction value of more than $3 million, by unlocking red tape and streamlining the approval processes.

A number of recent legislative changes have further supported the Premier’s vision to coordinate private sector development by enabling the State Coordinator-General to do the following:

  • assign the Development Assessment Commission (DAC) as the planning authority for certain proposals over $3 million
  • assign DAC as the planning authority for developments approved by the State Coordinator-General for the purposes of the Renewing our Streets and Suburbs Stimulus Program
  • expand the Department of Planning, Transport and Infrastructure’s Case Management Service to assist developers in navigating the planning and development process.

More information about the Government’s Case Management Service for developers, and the Renewing our Streets and Suburbs Stimulus Program – including application forms, check lists and assessment criteria – can be found on the Department of Planning, Transport and Infrastructure website.
